Temptations for new Vegans.
Step onto the vegan path and a whole new world opens up for you, BUT, so do the temptations that new vegans have to overcome.
Imagine, you’re at the in-laws, and your new mother in law has prepared a dish she thinks is vegan just for you. A lasagna! Yes, she’s used lots of vegetables and included mushrooms, the tomato sauce is right, but, oh dear, she’s used cheese! What to do?
Well, let me tell you, this type of scenario is nothing new. Most of us have experienced a similar dilemma more than once. You don’t want to be rude by refusing, nor do you want to seem like a burden, especially when someone has prepared something just for you.
How do you deal with these social pressures?
Sadly there is no clear-cut way as each situation usually comes with its own little quirks. However, it does help if you can inform others about your new diet, but just in a matter-of-fact sort of way. In other words, don’t start a discussion as to why you’ve gone vegan — but explain what you no longer are eating. If the person does ask why then say you watched a documentary (name it) and you now…
